A family run dairy farm at Molyullah, north east Victoria milking 240 cows has an opening available for a backpacker.

One person only.

Accomodation is a fully furnished 1 bedroom flat on site.

Previous dairy and tractor experience desired. Jobs include milking, rearing calves, tractor driving and general farm work.

3 month work. 40-45 hour week working Tuesday to Saturday. Qualify for 88 day.

There is a tavern, large ablution block, camp kitchen and 30 rooms onsite.

The Bark Hut Inn is located on the Arnhem Highway in the Northern Territory and we pride ourselves in offering great customer service. We are right at the Northern Entrance of Kakadu National Park, and only 1.5hrs from Darwin, so you will have time to explore on your days off.

Award rates are paid including weekend penalty and public holiday rates. Plenty of hours per week as well as superannuation, pays are weekly. Cheap air-conditioned private staff accommodation supplied and food.

Great team to work with. A 3 month minimum is preferable

ABOUT THE ROLE

This exciting opportunity is for a 6-month fixed term contract supporting our business as a Purchasing Officer Corporate. You will be responsible for the seeking availability, sourcing, ordering and delivering of passenger and commercial vehicles nationally within the timeframe of the company service standard and meets or exceeds our client’s requirements.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively source new vehicle assets through key supplier networks, processing all new orders through the fleet management system
• Update all vehicle delivery movements to ensure that vehicle processing tasks are accurately actioned within agreed timeframes
• Proactively coordinate asset delivery in accordance with vehicle order and client requirements
• Arrange payment to supplier (settlement) ensuring information and documentation provided to and received from suppliers and customers (internal and external) is accurate and in accordance with the SG Fleet requirements
• Actively participate as a member of the team to work towards achieving the team’s objectives. Foster positive relationships within other internal departments of our business.
• Perform administrative activities, including ad-hoc reporting, to support overall team efficiency and its ability to achieve targets

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a customer service role
• Business acumen and commercials awareness
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills - meets specified deadlines and reports regularly on progress
• Effective communicator both verbally in writing, including good listening and probing skills
• Critically analyses information and resolves problems through to complete resolution in a timely and effective manner
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• High attention to detail

Primary Position Objective:

Perform RF and optical fibre testing, mechanical assembly, general workshop duties and equipment maintenance.

General Functions and Tasks:

·        Perform various measurements on telecommunication equipment using RF, digital and mechanical test equipment.

·        Perform mechanical assembly of RF communication systems.

·        Perform general workshop duties and equipment maintenance.

·        Learning new methods / undertake training where required to perform the duties; understand the characteristics and measurement errors of test equipment used.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a farm hand at our station located 25km's from Griffith. You will need to have a vehicle to get out here. 

The position is on a livestock cattle station. Your duties will vary but will include tagging the calves ears once they are born, some calving duties, driving tractors and 4 wheel drives and other general farm duties.

Experience is not necessary but you need to be fit and strong for this position and have common sense. We do have a basically furnished house on the farm, you would need to have a vehicle to go to Griffith for your supplies. You are welcome to make it homely and it has airconditioning and heating or there are working hostels in Griffith that you can stay in.

We are offering 40 hours a week and $27 an hour if you stay in our house or $30 if you live  elsewhere

•   Operation, maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery
•   Early starts with early finishes.
•   Following all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for team members and guests

What you’ll bring:
•   Certificate III in Horticulture highly desirable
•   Demonstrated experience in a similar position with a knowledge of horticulture
•   A current manual drivers licence highly desirable
•   A current bobcat, excavator, back-hoe, truck licence or tractor driving experience is advantageous
•   A high level of understanding and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
•   Must be physically fit, physical requirements include but are not limited to: carrying, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, twisting
•   Must be able to start at 5:00am and work on any days including weekends and school holidays
