Primary Position Objective:

Perform RF and optical fibre testing, mechanical assembly, general workshop duties and equipment maintenance.

General Functions and Tasks:

·        Perform various measurements on telecommunication equipment using RF, digital and mechanical test equipment.

·        Perform mechanical assembly of RF communication systems.

·        Perform general workshop duties and equipment maintenance.

·        Learning new methods / undertake training where required to perform the duties; understand the characteristics and measurement errors of test equipment used.

·        Travel as required for reasonable durations to customer sites and company operations elsewhere in the world.

·        Adhere to the company’s quality policies and quality aspirations, and provide input to the company’s practices with a view to gaining improvements.

·        Adhere to the company’s policies regarding health and safety as well as other company policies.

Other duties as delegated from time to time.

Specific Functions and Tasks:

·        Tertiary education in electrical or mechanical trade or other related discipline

·        Prior experience with the use of typical RF test instrumentation including Spectrum, PIM and Network Analysers.

·        Familiarity with environmental qualification test equipment including temperature, humidity, shock and vibration, salt mist and UV / solar will be highly regarded.
